EAST LANSING, MI – After dropping the first set, Maryland (15-5, 3-5 Big Ten) reeled off three-straight wins to down Michigan State (8-9, 1-7 B1G), 18-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-18, for their first ever victory at Michigan State.Â
After dropping the first set, the Terps reorganized and came out firing in the second set. The Terps led the entire way and eventually went into intermission with a 25-21 set victory. The third set was even more in the Terps favor as they closed it out with an impressive 25-16 score. The fourth and final set was a tighter affair but the two-way performance by
Sam Csire was enough to put the Terps over.Â

- After notching two kills in the first set, outside hitter Sam Csire was ready to roll in the second set as she notched six kills in that stanza.
- The Strongsville, Ohio, native would finish the night with 15 kills on a .308 hitting percentage.
- She also finished the match with 10 digs, two aces, and four blocks.Â
Milan Mania
- Freshman libero Milan Gomillion returned to the court Saturday night just over a week after leaving the Indiana match early due to injury.Â
- Gomillion totaled a team-high 13Â digs in her return to the Terps' squad, plus five assists.Â
Capitalizing On MistakesÂ
- The Terps mystified the Sparty attack throughout the night as they forced 27 attacking errors and 14 service errors.
- Capping a 15-6 run to close out the third set, the final point of the stanza was a Spartans service error.Â
- Match point in the fourth set also ended in an attack error.
