COLLEGE PARK, Md. -  The Maryland men's basketball team welcomes Nebraska for a historic two-game stand on back-to-back nights Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Maryland was previously scheduled to play Nebraska Jan. 16, but the meeting was postponed due to health and safety protocols within the Cornhusker program.

Even though fans will not be able to cheer on the Terps from the stands, you can still be a part of the gameday experience by participating in our Virtual Sellout. or purchasing a Terrapin Cutout. Click here to learn more.

NEBRASKA STORYLINES

RANKED MATCHUP MARATHON
  • Ten of Maryland's first 13 Big Ten Conference games were against ranked opponents. Each of its final seven opponents, including its most recent opponent Minnesota, are unranked. Four of its final six games are at home.

DEVASTATING DEFENSE
  • The Maryland defense has not allowed an opponent to score more than 61 points in five of its last six games. Three of those five instances were against ranked foes. Over its last six games, Maryland's opponents are averaging 59.5 points on 37.1-percent shooting, including 29.4-percent from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Maryland Terrapins play the Purdue Boilermakers at the Xfinity Center on February 2, 2021.
SERIES HISTORY
  •  Maryland is 7-3 all-time against Nebraska (all meetings as Big Ten foes), with Maryland winning three of the last four meetings. Maryland narrowly won last year's lone meeting, as future NBA first rounder Jalen Smith swatted Cam Mack's game-tying layup attempt in the waning moments. Eric Ayala scored 16 in the win, while Donta Scott had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Aaron Wiggins
1000 point club incoming
  • Senior Darryl Morsell (992) needs just eight points to become the 56th player in Maryland history to score 1,000 career points. Since the start of the 2019-20 season, the Terrapins are 21-2 when Morsell reaches double-figures. The Baltimore native was recently named one of 30 candidates for the Senior Class Award, which recognizes excellence in character, classroom, community and competition.

EVERYONE EATS
  • Maryland features an array of scoring options this season with four different players scoring at least 20 points in a game: Eric Ayala (3x), Aaron Wiggins (2x), Donta Scott and Hakim Hart. Senior Darryl Morsell fell one point shy of the benchmark when he scored a career-best 19 points in Maryland's win at then-No. 12 Illinois.
