COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland women's soccer team fell to Michigan, 4-0, at Ludwig Field Thursday afternoon.
The Terps (0-5-2, 0-5-2) trailed 1-0 through 75 minutes, but the Wolverines (4-1-2, 4-1-2) scored three goals in the final 15 minutes to put the match away.
Kennedy Tolson made six saves in the loss.
The two sides were even through eight minutes before Sarah Stratigakis scored the opener for the Wolverines. The Terps found a few opportunities late in the half through
Madison Oracion, but ended the half down a goal.Â
A penalty kick given to Michigan in the 75th minutes gave the Wolverines total control. While Tolson stopped the initial spot kick from Nikki Hernandez, Sammi Woods scored on the rebound to make it 2-0. Lily Farkas (80') and Woods (85') scored the final two goals of the match.
The Terps are back in action Sunday afternoon at Ludwig Field against Iowa. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and fans can watch the action live on Big Ten Network.Â
