COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Maryland men's basketball team seeks its second straight win when it faces Rutgers at Jersey Mike's Arena Tuesday evening.

The Terrapins have collected three Quad 1 victories this season, and are one of five teams in the Big Ten Conference to hit that mark as of Jan. 22: Wisconsin (6), MSU (4), Purdue (3), OSU (3).

B1G WIN at home
  • The Terrapins picked up their second ranked victory of the season when they defeated then-No. 17 Illinois, 81-65, Friday night in College Park.
  • Junior Donta Scott was sensational in the effort, pouring in a career-high 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
  • It was the most points for a Terrapin who came off the bench since Diamond Stone scored 39 points against Penn State on Dec. 30, 2015.

Ayala WATCH
  • All-Big Ten senior guard Eric Ayala is just three points away from becoming the 29th player in Maryland history to record 1,300 career points.
  • He is also currently tied for sixth in program history with Eric Hayes (196) in career 3-pointers made.
  • He is looking to pass Jake Layman (198) and then become the fifth player in program history to record 200 3-pointers.

REELING IN RANKed WINS
  • Maryland is one of five schools nationally to win at least four games against ranked teams in each of the last three seasons (2018-21), joined by Kansas, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa and Michigan.
  • Of those teams, only Maryland, Purdue and MSU have recorded at least two ranked wins this year.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Maryland carried an 11-point advantage into the halftime break before ultimately falling to Rutgers, 70-59, in their first meeting on Jan. 15 in College Park.
