COLLEGE PARK, MDÂ -Â The Maryland men's basketball team looks to match its longest winning streak of the season Saturday afternoon as it welcomes Indiana to XFINITY Center for a 2:30 tip.
The Terrapins have collected a combined six Quad 1 & 2 victories this season, and are one of five teams in the Big Ten Conference to hit that mark as of Jan. 25: Wisconsin (10), MSU (7), Purdue (6), Illinois (6).
INDIANA STORYLINES
ROAD WARRIORS
- The Terps picked up their second straight conference victory with a tip-to-horn defeat of Rutgers, 68-60, on Tuesday night
- The backcourt duo of Fatts Russell and Eric Ayala was sensational, combining for 45 points on 15-of-29 shooting (10-of-17 3FG).
- Ayala's five 3's pushed him over 200 for his career, becoming just the fifth Terp in history to reach the milestone (see chart on page 3).

- All-Big Ten senior guard Eric Ayala is just three points away from becoming the 29th player in Maryland history to record 1,300 career points.
- He is also currently tied for sixth in program history with Eric Hayes (196) in career 3-pointers made.
- He is looking to pass Jake Layman (198) and then become the fifth player in program history to record 200 3-pointers.
Getting even; REELING IN Ranked WINS
- Maryland is 3-0 in rematches this season, having defeated Northwestern, Illinois and Rutgers after previously losing to them earlier in the season.
- Maryland is one of five schools nationally to win at least four games against ranked teams in each of the last three seasons (2018-21), joined by Kansas, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa and Michigan.Â
LIVING AT THE LINE
- Maryland currently leads the Big Ten in free throws made (304) and is second in free throws attempted (411), and ranks 15th and 17th in the country, respectively, in each category.
- The effort has been led by Fatts Russell and Eric Ayala, who both rank in the top-10 in the Big Ten in free throws attempted.
Q WARMING UP
- Terrapin forward Qudus Wahab has scored double-figures in back-to-back games for the first time since the first two games of his Maryland career earlier this season.
- He posted 11 points against Illinois, followed by a 10-point performance against Rutgers.
SERIES HISTORY
- Maryland is 4-0 against Indiana at XFINITY Center since joining the Big Ten Conference in 2014-15.
- The meeting marks a rematch of the 2002 NCAA Championship game, when Maryland and Hall of Fame coach Gary Williams defeated the Hoosiers 64-52 to claim their first and only national title.
- The Terps will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the championship on Feb. 27 against Ohio State due to star player Juan Dixon's coaching obligations today.
