COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland tennis team (11-1) defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 7-0, Saturday afternoon for its ninth win in a row. The Terps won two of the doubles matches and three of the singles matches.

Coach Katie Dougherty said "The team did a very good job managing tricky conditions today with the wind. We played a great doubles point taking care of the basics and carried it into singles. We've been practicing well and with very good intent and it showed today out on the court. I'm happy with where we are heading into a long stretch of tough road matches".

• The Tennis Terps have won nine consecutive matches, earning the longest win streak in over 20 years.
• Brumfield/Cadar clinched the doubles point for the Terps, winning their match 6-2.
• Graduate Student, Marta Perez Mur clinched the match for the Terps defeating Jackeline Lopez (6-0, 6-2).
