COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Head coach Mark Montgomery won his 600th career game as a head coach in Maryland's 5-3 win over North Dakota State on Sunday in the Capital City Classic. The Terps improved to 13-14 overall. 

In his 22 years as a head coach, Montgomery now has a career record of 600-533 with 44 coming at Maryland in his three seasons with the Terps. He has also served as head coach at Georgetown (Ky.), Centenary, Northern Colorado and Louisiana Tech. 

In the win, Kiley Goff went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Terps' his parade as eight of the nine starters had at least one hit. Haley Ellefson smacked a solo home run to give the Terps a 1-0 lead.  Ruby Butler and Michaela Jones drove in the Terps' other runs. 

On the mount, Trinity Schlotterbeck pitched the first six inning allowing seven hits and three runs to earn the win. Ellefson closed the game with a 1-2-3 seventh inning to secure the win. 

Breaking Down The Action
• Maryland scored four runs in the second inning to take the lead it would never relinquish.
• Ellefson put the Terps on the board with a home run to open the scoring. Butler drove home Taylor Okada with a sac fly. Goff's RBI single scored Schlotterbeck to make it 3-0. Then Goff stole home to finish the four-run frame. 
• NDSU got three runs back in the third to make it 4-3.
• The Terps closed the scoring on a Jones' run-scoring double to score Butler.
