McFarland and Mikami Earn All-Big Ten Honors

ROSEMONT, IL - Sophomores Jaeda McFarland and Megan Mikami have been named All-Big Ten selections, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. McFarland received First Team honors (the second of her career), and Mikami earned a Second-Team selection in addition to being named the Sportsmanship Honoree for Maryland. 

The previous Big Ten Freshman of the Year, McFarland continued her success into her sophomore season. McFarland landed in the top-five on the team in several categories, including batting average (.309), slugging % (.456), runs (29), hits (42), RBIs (22), doubles (8), triples (3), home runs (2), stolen bases (16) and total bases (62). McFarland's three triples is tied for third overall in the Big Ten, and her 16 stolen bases places her No. 8 overall in the conference. 

Mikami has had a stellar year for the Terps, placing her name in the top-five for average (.321), slugging % (.385), hits (50), RBIs (18), triples (1), total bases (60) and stolen bases (29-29). Mikami's 29 stolen bases places her at the No. 1 spot in the conference, and No. 28 in the nation.

McFarland, Mikami and the rest of Maryland Softball will compete in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament against Michigan State on Wednesday, May 11 at 7:00 PM on the Big Ten Network.
