FRENCH LICK, IN - The Maryland Men's Golf team finished the third at the Big Ten Championship (April 29 - May 1). Senior Dhaivat Pandya led for the #GolfTerps, placing in a two-way tie for third, posting 72-74-71 (+1). Pandya co-led the field in par four scoring with a scoring average of 4.00 (E). He was named to the All-Championship Team.

This marks the second-best finish for the Terrapins in the conference championship since joining the Big Ten Conference in 2014 in relation to total lowest score (Third Place, 2016 - Team Score: 866), but best finish in relationship to the championship winners (Team Score 887, Winners: Illinois,885). Maryland finished in second at the ACC Conference Championship in 1976.

72 Big Ten student-athletes played the par-72 - 7,033-yard The Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort in a stroke-play format over the three-day championship.

-Graduate Chris Tanabe finished in a three-way tie for 14th (+7) - - (71-73-79)
-Senior Will Koras finished in a seven-way tie for 27th (+10) - - (78-74-74)
-Freshman Florian Huerlimann finished in a three-way tie for 33rd (+11) - - (78-70-79)
-Senior Dillon Brown finished in a seven-way tie for 36th (+12) - - (73-77-78)

The Stats
Maryland had the lowest team rounds on the second (291) and final rounds (302).
The Terps led the field in par-three scoring with a scoring average of 3.08 (+5)

Rodenhaver's Take 
"I'm proud of the men," said head coach Jason Rodenhaver! We had the low rounds the last two days with a chance to win the conference championship today, with tough course conditions that's something we're proud of! We came up two shots short. This one will sting for a while, but we have tons of positive things to take away as we head into the summer. 

"We've been trending for the last month; all five guys have been in it to the end. It's really been a complete team effort. This week was the best we've played in several years! Hopefully, this gives us the confidence we can continue to play with these guys."
