Bloomington, IN – The Terps opened up competition from Bloomsburg, IN, on day one of the NCAA East Prelims.
Caleb Dean led the way on day one of competition, claiming victory in his heat of the 400m hurdles, and qualifying for the quarterfinals in the event.

Junior Caleb Dean opened the meet competing in the 400m hurdles, hurdling to a 50.82s finish. Dean earned a first place finish in his heat, qualifying to compete in the second round of the 400m hurdles, which will be on Friday at 7:25 PM. Dean will have the opportunity to qualify for the semi-finals which will be held in Eugene, OR at the NCAA championship meet.

Jeff Kline competed for the Terps squad in the shot put competition in his second appearance at the NCAA first round since arriving to College Park.
Coaches Comments:
"Each day our goal remains the same to keep advancing to the next round. Caleb checked that box today and has another opportunity Friday to reach the NCAA finals."

The Terps will be back in action tomorrow, on day two of the NCAA East Prelims in Bloomington, IN. Alice Barnsdale is set to get the meet started at 10 AM, as she competes in the hammer throw, followed by a performance from Ariana Ealy-Pulido as she competes in the 100m hurdles at 6 PM.
