Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD -- No. 9 Maryland fell 2-0 to No. 20 Denver in the first Friday Night Lights game of the year for the Terps.

During the match, Maryland celebrated 20 seasons of The Crew, the program's dedicated student supporters.

Breaking Down The Action

Denver scored off a set piece in the sixth minute with a header by Ronan Wynne.
In the 16th minute, Denver drew a penalty kick and Sam Bassett fooled Neumann to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead.
Joshua Bolma took a sneaky pass from Hunter George in the 31st minute, but his shot bounced off the post.
The Terps had 59 percent of the possessions and outshot the Pioneers 8-6 in the first half.
Maryland was stout defensively in the second half after a shaky start on that side of the ball, but was unable to create sustained attacks on offense.
