College Park, MD -- Each week during the 2022-23 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.

This week's Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week is redshirt freshman, 125-pounder
Braxton Brown of Maryland wrestling.

Brown went 5-0 individually in a week that saw No. 23 Maryland win three duals, including the first win over Oklahoma in program history. In that Oklahoma dual, Brown (ranked No. 23 individually) beat No. 11 Joey Prata (OU) by way of 4-1 decision. He also won two matches by major decision and one by fall (pinning Ohio's Oscar Sanchez in 3:30). Brown is now undefeated in dual matches on the season, posting a 10-0 mark there in addition to a a 15-2 overall record. His dominance on the mat at 125-pounds has been a key factor in the No. 23 Terps' 8-2 mark to start the season, the program's best start since the 2011-2012 season.
The Terps will host No. 7 Ohio State on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 pm and then travel to No. 25 Illinois in a dual that will take place on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 2 pm EST. Both matches can be caught on B1G+.
