Under the supervision of the Gossett Student-Athlete Center Tutorial Program Director, the Assistant Tutorial Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day academic services management operations, and development of the GSAC Tutorial Program, serving after hours as the first point of contact for all student-athletes and part-time Tutors and Educational Assistants while overseeing the GSAC facility and Virtual Tutorial Program Office.
Analyzes programming outcomes. Makes recommendations to improve policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.
Create a project management timeline according to the university's academic schedule including team travel, and program announcements. Fill tutor requests and manage tutor appointment schedules. Manage evening hours, support staff, customer service, and facility security. Prepare training materials and workshop training for tutors and educational assistants.
Analyzes programming outcomes for weekly, semester, and end-of-the-year reports. Interact with campus resource meetings, and Career Center Job Fair by engaging in academic support initiatives. Makes recommendations to improve the tutorial program's policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.
The Assistant Tutorial Coordinator will work 35 hours a week, late afternoon until closing in the fall and spring semesters.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities:
- Enforce all university and BigTen academic integrity policies, rules and procedures
- Professionally address student/staff inquiries and issues as they arise
- Track quantitative data to assess the progress of the tutorial program
- Supervise tutors, conduct performance evaluations, provide progress feedback
- Recruitment; identify staff needs, hiring, and new employee on-boarding
- Maintain consistent communication between staff by TW and ELMS
- Stay up-to-date on GSAC, Athlete Department, and Campus information
- Ensure that the unit runs efficiently and effectively
- Provide knowledge in subjects in which he/she has exhibits high competency
- Develop a variety of communications materials for the Weekly Tips notification
- Develop a variety of communications, social media for marketing job opportunities
- Answer calls/emails in a timely manner
- Keep facility clean and organized
- Be flexible in covering shifts as needed

- Maintain accurate records of the tutorial database systems

Relationships:
- The Assistant Tutorial Coordinator will work closely with the GSAC Program Coordinator in addition to the GSAC Professional Part-Time Employees Director. It is essential that he/she maintains an open line of communication with all members of the GSAC staff.
- It is also essential that he/she maintain an open and mutually cooperative relationship with other offices on campus including faculty members and on campus learning centers.
