Terps Head To Rutgers For Series Rematch
  • Maryland leads the all-time series 13-8 and are 6-3 all-time at Rutgers.
  • Jahmir Young and Julian Reese each posted double-doubles, but Rutgers held off the Terps late for a 56-53 win at the XFINITY Center nearly three weeks ago. Reese had 19 points and 12 boards, while Young posted 16 points and 12 rebounds. Young became the third-fastest player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark for his Maryland career. The Terps erased a nine-point deficit in the final three minutes to pull within one twice, but were unable to find a go-ahead or game-tying bucket in the final seconds of play.
  • Jahmir Young scored a game-high 20 points and Julian Reese added 18 points and seven rebounds, but the Terps fell 74-70 on Tuesday night at Wisconsin. The Terps rallied back from a 10-point second half deficit to pull within a possession late, however, the Badgers hit 11 free throws in the final minute to hold Maryland at bay.
  • Maryland has two Quad 1 wins on the year, three Quad 2 wins, and has three road wins (3rd-best in the Big Ten). Despite being 2-9 in Quad 1 games, the Terps have had five decided by one possession or overtime (1-4).
  • Defensively, Maryland has been outstanding allowing 70-or-fewer points in 14 of its last 18 games. The Terps have held the top five Big Ten scoring teams to an average of 21 points under their yearly average.
  • Maryland allows opponents to shoot 37.4 percent from three-point range during the first half, but then holds them to 28.2 percent in the second. That 9.2 percent decrease is the second largest among major conference teams (Missouri – 9.3). Maryland held Illinois to 0-for-8 from three-point range in the second half after allowing Iowa to convert just 1-of-9.
