Maryland Wraps Up at Briar's Creek

JOHNS ISLAND, SC -- The Maryland men's golf team wrapped up its first event of the spring season Tuesday at the Battle at Briar's Creek in Johns Island, S.C. The event was cut short to 36 holes due to inclement weather in the area.

The Terrapins finished 13th of 14 teams competing and just three strokes behind Big Ten opponent Nebraska. The Terps earned a team score of 604 (303-301).

Graduate student Ben Cooper tied for 27th to lead Maryland with a score of 148 (74-74), which was +4 overall. He made eight birdies total.

Junior Florian Huerlimann tied for 39th with his score of 150 (76-74), which was +6. He also picked up eight birdies. Sophomore Constantin Mons tied for 43rd with a score of 151 (74-77), which was +7 and made six birdies. 

Sophomore Ronnie Kim finished with a score of 159 (79-80) and made four birdies. Freshman Ali Berker earned a score of 160 (84-76) and picked up two birdies.

Next, the Terps will compete in the Dorado Beach Collegiate Feb. 25-27 in Puerto Rico.
