Terps Lead Early Against No. 10 UCLA; Drop Late Decision, 6-5

Box Score LOS ANGELES -- Maryland jumped out to a 4-0 lead against No. 10 UCLA, but the Bruins rallied for a 6-5 victory on Friday night.

Three different Terps recorded singles in the first inning that resulted in four runs scoring. UCLA played from behind for almost the entirety of the game, but the Bruins tied the game up and later took the lead on an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.

The Terps threatened in the top of the seventh as they put two runners on before UCLA's Taylor Tinsley struck out the final three batters.

Michaela Jones went 2-for-3, including the first home run of the season for the Terps, a solo shot to deep left-center in the top of the third inning. She also scored two runs and had two RBIs.
Freshman Delaney Reefe continued her hot start on her first day of college action as she drove in a pair of runs, with a two-run single against the Bruins. In Friday's two games, she went 4-for-5.

Starting pitcher Courtney Wyche pitched six innings and recorded seven strikeouts.
