Terps FACE BADGERS IN BIG TEN SECOND ROUND
- This will be the second-ever meeting between Wisconsin and Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament. The Badgers won the only meeting of the year, 74-70, in Madison earlier this year.
- Jahmir Young scored 20 points, while Julian Reese added 18 points and Donta Scott had 12 in the lone meeting of the season.
- If the Terps advance to the quarterfinal round, they will face Northwestern. That would present a match-up between Maryland and Northwestern for the third meeting of the season. The Wildcats hung on for a three-point win in Evanston before pulling away late for a seven-point win at the XFINITY Center in the re-match. Maryland cut an 11-point lead in the final five minutes to just three with 2:10 remaining before the Wildcats converted free throws down the stretch to seal a 68-61 win.
Maryland has two Quad 1 wins on the year, four Quad 2 wins, and has four road wins (3rd-best in the Big Ten). Despite being 2-8 in Quad 1 games, the Terps have had four decided by one possession or overtime (1-3).
- The Terps opened the Big Ten Tournament with a win over Rutgers. In the earlier meeting against Wisconsin, the Badgers won in Madison, 74-70. For five of the six teams on Maryland's side of the bracket, the Terps lost by an average of four points to each with the exception of a 14-point loss to then No. 1 ranked Purdue in the only meeting of the season between the two teams.
Donta Scott had 16 points and six rebounds in the first round win over Rutgers.

JuJu Beast
- After a breakout sophomore campaign that saw Julian Reese become one of the top big men in the Big Ten, the Baltimore native enters 2023-24 with high praise. Reese joined Jahmir Young on the Preseason All-Big Ten Team and was named to the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award Watch List.
- Reese showed his impact for the Terps in 2022-23 as he scored in double-figures in 22 games with a career-high 24 points against Coppin State. He had seven double-doubles on the year including 17 points, 12 rebounds at Ohio State.
- Had one of his best league outings going toe-to-toe with Purdue's Big Ten Player of the Year Zach Edey where Reese scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting while adding three rebounds and committing zero turnovers.
- Reese finished 2022-23 tied for second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points and led the Terps in rebounds (7.2).
