Two Terps Homer In 4-2 Loss To No. 25 Oregon

Box Score EUGENE, OR – Maryland softball was unable to re-create its upset win yesterday against No. 25 Oregon. The Terps were defeated by the Ducks, 4-2, on Saturday at the Jane Sanders Classic.

Maryland (6-12) trailed by four, but Diamond Williams and Mazie MacFarlane each hit solo home runs to cut the lead in half. It was Williams' fifth of the season and MacFarlane's first as a Terp. However, the Terps couldn't muster any more runs in the contest.

MacFarlane was the only Terp to notch multiple hits. She went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
The Terps' other hits came from Megan Mikami and Michaela Jones. Mikami added a stolen base and is only two stolen bases away from breaking the all-time program record.

Bri Godfrey made her eighth appearance in the circle and pitched three innings. She struck out two batters and allowed four hits. Courtney Wyche entered the game and pitched the final three innings and struck out four batters.

Oregon's (12-8) Paige Sinick finished with two RBIs.

The game was the second matchup between the two schools in the tournament. The Terps upset the Ducks yesterday, 4-0, as Wyche pitched a shutout and Maryland claimed its 37th win over a ranked opponent.
