Women’s Golf Welcomes Two Incoming Terrapins

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland women's golf head coach Kelly Hovland signed two top players to the roster for the 2026-27 season Wednesday. Carolina Perez-Tasso (Spain) and Noa Zocco (Monza, Italy) both signed National Letters of Intent to come to the University of Maryland.

  • Finished top 5 in team with Real Club de golf el Prat at European Ladies Club Trophy
  • Finished second of Catalunya interclubs with El Prat
  • Finished second at Omnium of Belgium at Hulencourt
  • Finished first in Belgian Ranking U18 and All ages
  • Club Championship Hulencourt in 2021, 2022, 2023
  • Has 4 wins and 5 top 10 finishes in international play in 2025


Hovland on Perez-Tasso: "Carolina comes to our team as a winner. After a successful tennis career as a junior, she has experienced the same success in golf.   • Won the Italian Girls U18 International Championship (2024)
 
Hovland on Zocco: "Noa joins a long list of Italian players that have chosen Maryland and I expect her to experience the same high level of success as those that came before her. She has won at the highest levels in Europe, including the Italian National Championship and the Italian International Championship. I am excited to see her thrive on and off the course.

Zocco on Maryland: "I chose the University of Maryland because when I visited, I fell in love with the university's atmosphere. I also felt welcomed by the coach, and I really appreciated her character and mentality. I thought it would be wonderful to spend my university years learning and growing under her guidance."
