COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team will hold its annual Red-White Spring game on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium.

The game will cap off the Terps' 15-practice spring campaign which began on Tuesday, March 24.

The spring game is also the culmination of Maryland Day, an annual campus celebration.

Admission to the game is free. Gates will open at noon for an autograph session (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.) with Ralph Friedgen and the players.

    Spring Game Information:

Game Format: The spring game will pit the Red team vs. the White team under a normal format with four 12-minute quarters. There is also a third team - the Black squad - which features offensive linemen and specialists who are eligible to play for either Red or White. Players will be able to switch teams and the quarterbacks will be in yellow jerseys (non-contact).

Byrd Stadium Access: Fans must enter the stadium on the North side of the field -- opposite Tyser Tower (under the Upper Deck). Fans will not be allowed to enter on the South side due to the construction on the press box. Gate F (west side) will open at noon for the autograph session (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.). Gate C (north side) will open at the conclusion of the autograph session. Seating will be limited to Sections 2 through 15 in the Lower Bowl.
