On Thibeault - An outside shooting specialist who is always hustling on the court ... has had medical procedures performed on his back each of the last two summers and should play this season pain free for the first time in his collegiate career ... while he is far from the most physically gifted player on the team, his competitiveness and drive have made him a favorite of the coaching staff ... he possesses one of the best outside shots on the team and has proven to be a deceptively quick-jumping rebounder ... his work ethic and grasp of the game reminds the coaching staff of another former walk-on, Vince Broadnax ... he decided to attend Maryland over a number of Division n and 111 basketball offers because of its School of Engineering, but had always dreamed of playing basketball for Maryland ... he was actively recruited by the Terps' soccer program.
As a Sophomore — His back problems limited his availability to 15 games ... he averaged 1.2 points, 0.6 rebounds and one assist a game ... he played a season-high 14 minutes against UNC Greensboro, scoring five points and grabbing three rebounds — both season-high totals ... he was all over the floor in 10 minutes at N.C. State, finishing the game with four assists and three steals - both career highs ... he played in 10 of the first 11 games of the year, before his back problems began to severely limit his playing time. As a Freshman — He played in 18 games, averaging just under one point and one rebound a game ... his season high was three points (in three different games) and three rebounds ... after seeing little action in the first part of the season, he played in 15 of the final 18 games of the year
