Anthony Benyarko joined the University of Maryland in the Spring of 2017 as the athletic trainer for the men’s lacrosse program.  Anthony came to Maryland after serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at University at Albany, from 2006 - 2017 where he worked with the Division I Men’s Lacrosse team, Men’s Soccer team, and Football. Prior to working at the University at Albany, Anthony spent time as a summer intern for the New York Giants of the National Football League, and a year-long internship with the Boston College Football team.

He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2006 and holds a Master's Degree of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Rehabilitative Science from California (Pa.) University in 2015.

Anthony is a member of several organizations, including the National Athletic Training Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the National Association of Speed and Explosion, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

Anthony holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist certification from the NASM, a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner, Owens Recovery Science-BFR, SFMA Level 1 and is Graston Technique Certified. He is also CPR/AED certified from the American Heart Association, Professional Rescuer certification from the American Red Cross, and NASE Certified Speed Specialist Level II.

Originally from Queens, NY, Anthony currently resides in Silver Spring, MD with his wife, Marinel, and daughter, Luna.
