Ben Hoffman joined the University of Maryland in the spring of 2017 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Olympic sports. He oversees all aspects of strength and conditioning for men’s soccer and women’s tennis.
 
Before coming to Maryland, Hoffman was a sports performance coach at Georgetown University where he oversaw men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and track & field/cross country. He also assisted with football, men’s lacrosse, rowing, and various other programs. Prior to Georgetown, Hoffman made stops at Webber international University, Valdosta State University, and the University of Houston.
 
A native of Houston, Texas, Hoffman received his Master’s of Education from the University of Houston in 2010 and his Bachelor’s of Arts in kinesiology from Southwestern University in 2008, where he was a four-year member of the soccer team.
 
Hoffman’s professional strength and conditioning certifications include SCCC from the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Level 1 Coach from USA Weightlifting. He and his wife reside in Washington, DC.
