As a Junior (2008-09): Set Maryland school records in the 500 free (4:23.27), 1650 free (15:22.92), and 800 free relay (6:34.02)...established personal bests in the 200 free (1:38.20) and 1000 free (9:16.80)...member of seventh-place 800 free relay team at ACC Championships and finished 14th in the 500 free and 20th in the 200 free...finished second in the 1650 free (15:58.67), 500 free (4:28.58), and 200 free (1:40.08), and swam as a member of the second-place 800 free relay team at the Terrapin Cup.
As a Sophomore (2007-08): Finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.55) and the 1,000 free (9:53.74) against Duke, the latter setting a personal best... placed fifth in the 500 free against Johns Hopkins and NC State...set personal bests in the 200 free (1:40.30), 500 free (4:28.08) and the 1,650 free (15:57.14) at the ACC Championships.
As a Freshman (2006-07): Transferred to Maryland in January of 2007 from East Carolina University ... in his first meet for Maryland, he anchored the third-place 500 free relay team (4:17.4), led the sixth-place 400 free relay team (3:22.79) and swam the third leg for the fifth-place 400 IM relay (3:58.45) at the FIU Invitational ... finished third in the 1650 free (16:36.14), third in the 500 free (4:46.43), ninth in the 200 free (1:47.27), and eleventh in the 100 free (50.18) against Pittsburgh and Villanova at home ... finished seventh in the 1000 free (10:12.38) and 11th in the 500 free (4:57.26) against Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech...took fourth in the 1000 free (10:08.05) at Virginia ... at the ACC Championships, finished 25th in the 1650 free with a season-best time of 16:01.60, 29th in the 200 free with a season-best time of 1:42.70, and 34th in the 500 free with a season-best time of 4:38.90.
Before Maryland: Won the 200 and 500 freestyles for the Colonial Valley Conference both junior and senior years of high school ... placed second in the 200 and 500 freestyles at the NJSIAA Championships in 2006.
Personal: Son of Jack and Regina ... sister, Liz attends Dickinson ... lists his parents as the people he most admires ... greatest athletic thrill was breaking his cousin's record in the 500 freestyle his senior year.
