As a Junior (2011-12): Top competitor in the 100 fly (48.49) ...also a top five performer for Maryland in the 100 breast (55.59) and 200 fly (1:48.57)...finished 17th in the 100 breast (55.59) at the 2012 ACC Championships... touched the wall 24th in the 200 breast (1:54.26)... also competed on relays, helping the 200 medley relay team finish eighth (1:28.24) and the 200 free relay take ninth (1:20.20)...took second in the 100 fly (48.49) and 200 fly (1:48.57) at the Terrapin Cup...also placed eighth in the 50 free (21.02), ninth in the 100 breast (56.39).

As a Sophomore (2010-11): Secured the third best time in the 100 free on the squad...also posted the second best mark in the 100 breast and 100 fly....member of ninth place 200 medley relay (1:29.75) and eighth place 200 free relay (1:20.78) - both NCAA B-cut times...took 19th in the 100 fly (48.67)...also 23rd in the 100 breast (56.51) and 24th in the 100 free (45.60)...aided 400 free relay to seventh place finish (2:57.85)... member of third place 400 medley relay at Terp Cup...captured the 100 fly and took second in the 100 breast...part of second place 400 free relay.

As a Freshman (2009-10): Notched the third best mark on the team in the 100 breast (57.48) and the fifth in the 100 fly (50.24)...finished 20th in the 100 breast at the ACC Championships...stellar competitor at the 2009 Terrapin Cup, racking up seven top-11 performances...member second place 200 medley relay (1:31.54), third place 400 medley relay (3:24.13), fourth place 200 free relay (1:24.70) and 400 free relay (3:06.70)...individually, took sixth in the 100 breast (58.88), ninth in the 100 fly (51.36) and 11th in the 100 free (46.94)...established a career best in the 100 breast.

Before Maryland: Seven-time first team all-state pick...three-time All-New England...broke three state records...six-time first team all-division...Rhode Island Swimmer of the Year...Rhode Island Cox Sports Awards Athlete of the Year in 2009...Wendy's High School Heisman state finalist...also pitched and played third base for the Avengers' baseball team...batted a career .305...member of Rams Swimming Club...New England champion in the 100 free...Junior Nationals finalist...New England record holder in the 200 free and 400 medley relays.

Personal: Son of Jeffry and Mary Ellen Winters...EGHS Scholar and Honor Roll member...lost a no-hitter in the last inning with one out in a playoff baseball game...chose Maryland because of the `great team atmosphere and coaching staff, awesome facility, great sports teams and academics'...undecided on major.
