Emmett Gill was hired in August 2004 as a Learning Specialist for the Terrapin football team after spending the past two years working on his doctorate in sports and social welfare at the University of Maryland Baltimore. While pursuing his doctorate Emmett was selected to be a research fellow at the Center for the Study of Social Policy where he produced policy briefs related to Congressional involvement in college sports. Prior to pursuing his terminal degree Emmett served as a Senior Program Officer at the Center for the Study of Sport and Entertainment where he was responsible for research related to the academic achievement of student athletes and the personal development of professional athletes. Emmett earned a Masters in Social Work from Howard University and his bachelors from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
