Sarah Parbel is entering her first year on the ASCDU staff as an Academic Counselor. Prior to coming to the University of Maryland, Sarah worked at George Mason University in the Academic Support Center for Athletes as an Academic Coordinator from 2006 to 2007. She worked at Ohio University as an Academic Services intern from 2005 to 2006 and also at Michigan State University where she was a Football mentor, office assistant, and intern.
Sarah earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University in 2000 and was a middle school teacher before deciding to pursue a career in athletics. She received her Master's degree in Kinesiology and Sport Administration from Michigan State University in 2005.
Sarah was a four year letter winner in both track and cross country at MSU and was named Academic All Big Ten every season of competition. She is originally from Caledonia, Michigan.
Sarah advises Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Water Polo, Softball, and Competitive Cheer. In her free time she enjoys running, being outside, attending athletic events and she is an avid Detroit sports fan.
