Jim Knight joined the Maryland athletics department in 2004 as an Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager working with the women’s basketball, field hockey, women’s lacrosse, men’s golf, and women’s golf programs.

Since starting at Maryland, Knight has worked with 11 NCAA championship teams.

Prior coming to Maryland, Knight was the head athletic equipment manager at Boston College and Lehigh University.  He was also an assistant manager for the NFL’s Washington Redskins.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Knight earned am associate’s degree in retail business management at Monroe Community College, a bachelor’s degree in history from the State University of New York at Brockport, and a Masters of Sport Science degree in sport management from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala.

Knight has his certification with the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.
