A Terrapin alumna, Rose DiPaula has been a part of the Maryland Athletics family for over a decade. She was named the Assistant Director of Media Relations in January 2011 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2019. She currently oversees daily media operations for the women’s basketball, men's and women’s golf teams and the departments academics and Maryland Made career development units.
 
In this role, DiPaula oversees all communications strategy, social media, messaging and publicity for her respective programs.
 
DiPaula started the Instagram and Twitter accounts for the national championship women’s basketball and field hockey teams. Both are among the top in their respective sports with engagements.
 
DiPaula manages the department’s budget and media relations game day staffing and operations.
 
She became an adjunct professor in Maryland’s Phillip Merrill College of Journalism in the spring of 2017, teaching an upper-level elective Sports Media class.
 
Over the last 15 years, DiPaula has worked with numerous Terrapin teams, coaches and student-athletes, including field hockey, softball, acrobatics & tumbling, and men’s and women’s golf. She has also worked football game days and events for nearly every other Maryland program.
 
DiPaula was hired at Maryland as a media relations assistant in August 2009, a position she held until 2011. In the summer of 2009, DiPaula did a post-graduate internship with USA Football.
 
DiPaula graduated from Maryland with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009. She served the media relations department as an undergraduate intern.
