Sabra Metheney joined the University of Maryland Sports Medicine department in April of 2023 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Before coming to Maryland, Sabra worked as an Intern Athletic Trainer at Ohio State University, where she worked with the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Sabra received her Masters in Athletic Training degree from West Virginia University in May 2022. As a student she worked with the women’s gymnastics, women’s soccer and football teams. Sabra was also a former DII collegiate track and field athlete where she specialized in sprints and long jump.
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and is currently CPR/ AED certified. Sabra holds her Dry Needling Certification for Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sports Performance and she is also a Mental Health First Aider.
A native to Western, Pennsylvania, Sabra currently resides in Silver Spring, MD.
