TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - University of Maryland fell to 7-3 overall and 0-1 in ACC play here Monday, dropping a 7-0 decision to the 35th-ranked Florida State Seminoles here Monday. The Seminoles improved to 15-3 overall, 2-0 in league play.
Junior Kia Asberg and freshman Marina Raic extended their winning streaks to 12 matches apiece for the Seminoles. Asberg improved her dual match record to 17-1, while Raic jumped to 16-2. Other winners for FSU were freshman Jessica Balbuena at No.4 and
sophomore Nanette Duxin at No.2.
FSU got a big win at No.1 doubles were Gallovits and Duxin teamed to upset Lorraine Bittles and Meg Griffin, the 11th-ranked duo in the country. Gallovits and Duxin won 8-4 to improve their overall record to 10-3 together.
The Terps are scheduled to face Arizona State on Thursday.
