COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Having completed a stretch with three top 25 opponents in eight days, Maryland hosts a pair of home games this week with NC State and Florida State. The Terrapins hope to snap a three-game slide while entertaining the Wolfpack on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Florida State caps the weekend homestand at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17.
RECORDS
Maryland is 2-12 overall and 0-5 in the ACC following road losses at Virginia and North Carolina last weekend. The Cavaliers delivered a 69-63 setback in Charlottesville on Friday. NC State is 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the ACC following an 87-70 upset win over North Carolina last Friday. The Wolfpack host Virginia on Monday night. Florida State enters the week at 5-9 overall and 0-5 in the ACC following its 77-55 loss at Clemson last Friday. The Seminoles host Wake Forest on Thursday before traveling to Maryland.
COACHES
Maryland's Chris Weller (Maryland '66) has guided her alma mater to a national championship game and three Final Four appearances. Now in her 24th season, she has engineered an unprecedented eight ACC championships while compiling a 449-232 (.661) overall record. She is 161-114 (.585) in the Atlantic Coast Conference. In 1995, she became just the fifth coach in women's college basketball history to earn at least 400 victories at the same school. Three years earlier, her Terps were No. 1-ranked for a month which led to her naming as the 1992 Naismith and USBWA national coach of the year.
Weller is 24-30 lifetime against NC State and Kay Yow. Weller is 13-3 lifetime vs. Florida State, and 1-1 vs. Sue Semrau.
NC State's Kay Yow (East Carolina '64) is 560-226 overall in her 28th year as a college head coach, and 503-207 in her 24th season with the Wolfpack. Returning from her first Final Four appearance just last season, Yow has guided NC State to four ACC titles and 19 trips to national postseason play. She has been a gold medal coach of U.S. teams at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, and the 1986 Goodwill Games and 1986 World Championships. Yow is 198-92 lifetime in the ACC.
Florida State's Sue Semrau (UC San Diego '85) is14-27 in her second season at Florida State, and second season overall. She is 5-15 in the ACC.

SERIES HISTORY
The Terps and North Carolina State have met 54 times since their first encounter on Feb. 6, 1976. All previous meetings have included Chris Weller and Kay Yow on their respective sidelines. The Wolfpack swept the Terrapins in two regular season meetings last year, by a combined 30 points, before Maryland upset the No. 9 'Pack in the ACC quarterfinals, 61-48. NC State has won three of the last four meetings and 14 of 22 in the '90s.
Maryland and Florida State split a pair of meetings last season - FSU winning 53-50 in Tallahassee and the Terps victorious, 77-49, in the final game of the regular season at Cole Field House. Maryland owns a 13-3 lead in the series, winning six of the last seven.
NEXT GAMES
Maryland travels to Georgia Tech for its first television appearance of the season on Thursday, Jan. 21. The Terps enjoy a week between games before hosting Clemson on Jan. 28 and traveling to Duke on Feb. 1.
RADIO/TV SCHEDULE
Seventeen Maryland women's basketball games are carried on live radio this season between the Maryland/Learfield Network with WBAL (1090-AM) in Baltimore as the flagship station, and campus radio station WMUC (650-AM and 88.1-FM).
The Terps appear on four regionally televised games during the ACC season beginning with a Jan. 21 date at Georgia Tech. Subsequent dates include Maryland at Duke on Feb. 1, Virginia at Maryland on Feb. 8, and Maryland at NC State on Feb. 15.

It will be YMCA Night on Thursday, Jan. 14 when the Terps host NC State.
Against Florida State on Jan. 17, it will be Girl Scouts Day. Over 500 Girl Scouts from the nation's capital council in attendance will form a parade and recite the Girl Scout Promise during pregame activities.
Maryland's Jan. 28 game vs. Clemson is CYO Night. Youngsters from Catholic Youth Organization basketball leagues from Baltimore and D.C. areas will be in attendance.
AAU teams and teams from local schools will be in attendance when the Terps host Virginia on Feb. 8. Special group rates are available for all teams and guests from local and regional AAU affiliations or schools. Also that night, an exhibition contest will take place at halftime featuring teams competing in the NIKE 3-for-All. The NIKE event is a national competition, with local competitors featured in a halftime exhibition during the Maryland-Virginia game. Regional competition for the NIKE 3-for-All takes place that week at sites around College Park.
The North Carolina game on Feb. 11 honors National Women in Sport Week. Schools around the ACC invite their fans to "Bring a Girl to a Game" during the annual week that promotes women in sports. The Maryland-North Carolina game is Bring a Girl to a Game Night.
