The women's tennis team lost its third straight match after traveling to Bloomington, Ind. to face the Hoosiers on Friday. The Terps lost by a score of 8-1 with freshman
Jessica Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earning the only Maryland win of the day. Freshman
Delila Causevic (Silver Spring, Md.) lost 6-3, 6-1 to Jessica Anderson in the No. 1 position. Johnson followed Causevic in the No. 2 spot beating Kelly Blanch 7-6, 6-2. Senior
Stacy Walkowitz (Coral Springs, Fla.) was defeated 6-2, 6-1 by Zahra Ahamed. In the No. 4 and 5 positions, both juniors were also defeated by their Hoosier opponents. Jessica Levin defeated
Catherine Valantin (Metz, France) at No. 4.
Chrissie Terrill (Plano, Tex.) lost 6-2, 6-4 to Amanda Field.
In doubles play, Causevic/Johnson lost to 31-ranked Anderson/Blanch by a score of 8-6. Levin and Becky Wallihan defeated Valantin/Terrill 8-5 in the No. 2 spot.
The Terps return to Bloomington on Saturday to square off against Marquette at 1 p.m.
