Women's Tennis Earns Third Straight Victory

COLLEGE PARK, Md.-- The Terps (3-0, 0-0 ACC) ended a three-match homestand Sunday by defeating local rival Georgetown by a score of 7-2 in the Tennis Bubble. This marked the third consecutive win the women's tennis team has captured this season.

The Terps continue to ride high this year with two freshmen at the top of the lineup. Delila Causevic (Silver Spring, Md.) remains undefeated in the No. 1 position after defeating Sarada Ravindra 6-2, 6-0. Jessica Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa.) defeated Megan Crotty by a score of 6-3, 6-0. Juniors Chrissie Terrill (Plano, Tex.) and Catherine Valantin (Metz, France) also achieved singles success. Terrill won by a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Missy Mendes in the No. 3 position and Valantin defeated Lauren Mendes 6-2, 6-1. Senior Stacy Walkowitz earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Caroline Marshall.

Both sets of doubles were victorious over Georgetown. Causevic/Johnson rolled over sisters Sarada and Lakshmi Ravindra 8-3. Terrill/ Valantin won 8-0 over Hadley Muckerman and Kim Wattrick.

The Terps travel to Notre Dame, Ind. to take on Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The team then faces Illinois on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame.
