ATLANTA, Ga.- Looking for win number 700 in Maryland volleyball history, the Terps lost a hard-fought match to ACC rival Georgia Tech (1-3) 15-13, 5-15, 8-15, 12-15, Saturday evening in Atlanta, Ga.
Maryland was led once again by sophomore outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithburg, Md.). The team leader in kills and digs, Brennan smacked a team-high 16 kills and a match-high 15 digs in the loss for the Terrapins. Senior middle Nnenna Amobi (Silver Spring, Md.) pounded 11 kills and led the team with six blocks on the night.
The Terps fall to 9-7 on the year and 1-4 in the ACC. Georgia Tech improves to 12-4 this season and 3-1 in the conference.
Maryland returns to action Friday, Oct. 6, at Ritchie Coliseum versus defending ACC champion North Carolina. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
