COLLEGE PARK, Md.- The Maryland volleyball team used a dominant offense and a smothering defense to sweep Navy in three games, 30-20, 30-11, 30-23, Tuesday night in volleyball action at Ritchie Coliseum. Fifteen different Terrapins earned playing time in the three-game sweep for the Terps.

The Terrapins hit a season-high .352 for the match while limiting Navy to a .010 attack percentage to pick up the non-conference victory. The win also extended Maryland's winning streak to three games and evened the Terrapins' record at 6-6 on the season while Navy fell to 4-8.

Three Terps notched double-digit kills led by the reigning ACC Player of the Week, junior outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.). Brennan continued her excellent play of late, leading the team with a match-high 14 kills and 10 digs. It was the sixth double-double of the season for Brennan and her third in as many matches. Brennan also contributed four blocks as Maryland tallied 10.5 blocks as a team.

Senior middle hitter Willette Dority (Congers, N.Y.), the ACC's second leading hitter with a .361 hitting percentage entering the match, kept her strong hitting going with a .471 hitting percentage for the match. Dority smacked 10 kills and recorded four blocks for the winners.

Sophomore outside hitter Maria DiLivio (Hamilton, Ontario) also finished with double-figure kills (10) to go along with three blocks.

Junior setter Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.) dished out a match-high 37 assists, including her 2000th of her career, to help lead the Terps to victory.

The Terrapins three-match homestand continues Friday (Oct. 5) vs. Duke. The ACC contest will get underway at 7 p.m.
