DURHAM, N.C.- The Maryland volleyball team lost in three games at Duke (3-0) 30-23, 30-19, 30-22, Saturday evening in Durham, N.C. The Terps were looking to sweep the season series from Duke after defeating the Blue Devils earlier in the season at Ritchie Coliseum.
The Blue Devils came out strong and set the tone for the entire match. As a team, Duke hit .361 for the match while holding the Terps to a .165 hitting percentage.
Junior outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.) led the Terps with 13 kills and nine digs. Senior middle hitter Willette Dority (Congers, N.Y.) was the only other Maryland player in double figures with kills, finishing with 11 to go along with four blocks.
The Terps fell to 10-12 with the loss and 6-8 in the ACC. The Blue Devils improved to 20-3 overall and 12-3 in the conference.
Maryland plays its final two regular-season matches at home in the friendly confines of Ritchie Coliseum. The Terrapins host Clemson Friday (Nov. 9) at 6 p.m. and finish the regular season Saturday (Nov. 10) vs. Georgia Tech on Senior Day at 4 p.m.
