COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The women's tennis team (5-7, 1-2 ACC) lost its second ACC match of the season Sunday when it fell 4-3 to the Clemson Tigers in the College Park Tennis Bubble. Continuing to lead the team in singles victories, sophomore Delila Causevic (Silver Spring, Md.) netted her eighth victory against Clemson. She holds the team high for dual wins. Senior Catherine Valantin (Metz, France) continues to shine on the courts as she garnered her sixth consecutive singles win on the season. She has not lost a match so far after returning from an injury at the beginning of the spring campaign.

Freshman Chloe Chavardes (St. Nombreteche, France) earned the final win of the day after a grueling match at the No. 6 singles. She emerged as the winner with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Ashlea Bowen. This brings her season record to 6-4. Causevic defeated Anna Savitskaya 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 and Valantin earned a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 singles.

The only Maryland doubles victory was at the No. 1 spot and was earned by freshman Olivia Dubovikov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Pamela Floro (Manilla, Philippines). They defeated Laurence Jayet and Anna Dolinska 8-4. Dubovikov and Floro are 4-1 this season.

The Terps are back in action on April 7 and 8 when they head south to take on Duke on Saturday at noon. That match will be followed on Sunday with another dual at North Carolina, matches are slated to begin at noon. Maryland then returns home on April 14 to close out dual competition at home.
