TEXAS RECAP- TERPS ROLL TO B&G PROPERTIES INVITATIONAL TITLE
* The Terps rolled through the field at Southwest Texas in the B&G Properties Invitational to claim the title. After downing host Southwest Texas in three games (Sept. 7), the Terrapins cruised past Providence and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday (Sept. 8) in three games each for the championship.

* Leading the way was tournament MVP Lynnsy Jones (Castro Valley, Calif.). The sophomore right side totaled 32 kills over the weekend, including a career-high 15 vs. Southwest Texas. Jones, who led the ACC with 45 service aces in 2000, recorded eight aces in the two-day event.

* Joining Jones on the all-tournament team was junior setter Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.). Davey dished out a tournament high 91 assists including 35 vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

* Sophomore Maria DiLivio (Hamilton, Ontario) continued her strong play to open the season. The 6-1 outside hitter led the tournament with a .469 hitting percentage including 29 kills. She leads the team with 67 kills.

KRUGER NETS TWO MILESTONES IN TEXAS
* With the victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Janice Kruger recorded win No. 250 of her brilliant coaching career at Maryland.

* Now in her 14th season in College Park, Kruger has totaled an impressive 250-165 career mark with the Terps, which places her third in victories all-time in the ACC.

* Kruger also earned her 600th win at an NCAA four-year institution vs. Southwest Texas. After winning 23 games in her first season of coaching at Platte Technical CC, Kruger has rattled off 602 victories at both Nebraska-Omaha (352) and Maryland (250).

BOMBS AWAY!
* Lindsay Davey has done an outstanding job this season in setting up her teammates. With Maria DiLivio's team best 67 kills, three other Terrapins are close behind with over 50 kills.

* Junior outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.), who led the team in kills with 441 in 2000, is second on the team with 65 kills. An all-around force, Brennan ranks first on the team in digs with 51.

* Lynnsy Jones has opened the 2001 season with a bang. An excellent athlete, Jones is third on the team with 58 kills and second on the squad with 10 service aces.

* Senior middle hitter Willette Dority (Congers, N.Y.) has given the Terrapins exactly what they have needed, a steady influence in the middle. Dority ranks first on the team in hitting percentage (.340) and is fourth with 51 kills. She was already named to the all-tournament team at Indiana in the Blimpie/Holiday Inn Classic after racking up 32 kills in three games.

* The Terrapins as a team are hitting at a .242 clip, third-best in the ACC.

ACES WILD
* One of the strengths going into the season for the Terps was the team's serving. It took just six matches into the season to show their opponent how good they could be with the service game. Against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the Terrapins recorded a school record 21 service winners.

* Leading the way was junior middle hitter Amanda Ayres (Chesapeake Beach, Md.), who had a career-high six aces in the victory. Through six matches, Ayres leads the team and the ACC with 18 service winners.

* Lynnsy Jones added another five aces in the match and freshman outside hitter Sarah Treadwell (Pearland, Texas) came up big with a career-best four aces.

* The 21 aces broke the previous mark of 16 set against Wake Forest in 1996.

* As a team, the Terps lead the conference with 2.7 aces per game.
