Maryland's volleyball team (19-4) looks to earn its seventh-straight victory Sunday when it travels to Durham, N.C., to take on the Duke Blue Devils for a conference match at 1 p.m. Maryland is riding a six-match win streak and, with an 8-1 conference record, is alone in second place in the ACC. The Terrapins, who received votes in the USA TODAY/AVCA Coaches' Poll for the second week in a row, are coming off a 3-1 victory at Wake Forest. In that match, Rachel Wagener broke the school record for block assists in a season, Aimee Huddleston tallied her 1,000th assist for 2003 and Lynnsy Jones was in double digits in kills for the 15th straight match.

    Streaks and Milestones
In their last outing, the Terps reached two milestones and extended two streaks. Sophomore middle blocker Rachel Wagener, who continues to lead the nation in blocks per game with an average of 1.77, entered Tuesday's match with the Demon Deacons with 125 block assists for the season - two shy of the 1989 school record for block assists in a season set by Kelli Myers. With six against Wake Forest, Wagener broke the mark and is quickly approaching the career record. That mark is 219 block assists from 1987-89 by Kelli Myers, and Wagener has amassed 198 assisted blocks in under two years with the Terps.

Aimee Huddleston also reached a milestone in Winston-Salem, tallying her 1,000th assist this season. Huddleston, who recorded her 1,000th career assist earlier this year in a victory over Duke, ranks second in the ACC for assists with an average of 12.44 per game and has handed out a total of 1,031 assists this year.

And as the team extended its win streak to six matches with the victory over Wake Forest, Lynnsy Jones extended a streak of her own. With 15 kills Tuesday night, Jones has now notched at least 10 kills in each of the last 15 matches.

Terps in the ACC and National Rankings
Rachel Wagener, in addition to leading the nation in blocks, is also nationally ranked for hitting percentage. Here is a breakdown of Terps ranked in the ACC and in the nation:

Player Category/Stat ACC Rank National Rank

Maryland, as a team, is also ranked nationally in hitting percentage (12th) and blocks per game (fourth).

    The Series With Duke
Duke leads the all-time series with Maryland, 27-19, but the Terps bested the Blue Devils earlier this year in College Park. In that Sept. 26 match, Maryland blanked Duke, 3-0, in Comcast Center Gymnasium. Leading the Terps was Lynnsy Jones, with 14 kills and four blocks and Rachel Wagener with 11 kills and seven blocks. The last time the Blue Devils defeat the Terrapins was in the 2002 ACC Tournament, where Duke won in three games (30-28, 30-22, 30-22).

    Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke enters its weekend matches with an overall record of 7-14, 3-6 in the ACC. Before facing the Terrapins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the Blue Devils will host Florida State on Friday night at 7 p.m. In their last match, the Blue Devils fell, 3-0, to Virginia. Leading the team with 249 kills is Tassy Rufai, while Krista Dill is second in the conference in blocks with 1.52 per game. Duke is coached by Jolene Nagel, who has an 88-55 record in five years in Durham.
