Get a preview of the young Terps, including the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation, on Sunday. Head coach Brenda Frese returns three starters from last year's squad that posted 18 wins, the most since the 1996-97 season, and reached the second round of the 2004 NCAA Tournament with a thrilling 86-85 upset win over Miami. Of those returning are sophomore sensations Shay Doron and Kalika France. As freshmen, they led the team in scoring and garnered All-ACC accolades. Veteran Anesia Smith is the lone senior on the squad and will be the Terps' floor general this season.
The Terps received a number of preseason rankings, including a No. 12 rating in Athlon's College Basketball Annual. Doron was selected a preseason Honorable Mention All-American by Street & Smith's.
