COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Maryland Postgame Quotes
Head Coach Brenda Frese
On the team's goals for its only exhibition game:
"We wanted to use this game to play everybody, really look at a lot of different lineups and not necessarily play players for a lot of minutes. So it was nice to be able to see use a lot of great combinations out there."
On the Terps' game plan for the second half
"We wanted to play a lot of different players. We wanted to get some experience with our rotation and our bench just to be able to involve everyone. We wanted to work on our matchup zone. Obviously when they started hitting shots like they were we would have, in a regular game, come out of it. But we just wanted to really spend some time working on the zone which is why we didn't really adjust."
Freshman Crystal Langhorne
On her first collegiate game:
"I was pretty excited for this game. We've been practicing for three weeks getting ready for it and my coaches and teammates really helped prepare me for it."
On the size of the UMMC Ekaterinburg frontcourt:
"I've played against a lot of tall players. They were really long but I tried to use my strength to get around them."
Sophomore Shay Doron
On the team's strong second half start:
"They came out really flat. We were moving the ball well and taking care of the ball for the first ten minutes of the second half so I think that worked well for us. We were hitting open shots which we had missed a few of in the first half. But once we got warmed up we started hitting them."
