CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Crystal Langhorne had 29 points and 22 rebounds to
lead No. 20 Maryland to a 70-65 victory over Miami on Thursday night, the
Terrapins' 200th Atlantic Coast Conference victory.
Shay Doron scored 20 points for the Terrapins (18-6, 7-5 Atlantic Coast
Conference), who withstood a late rally to win for fifth time in six games.
Tamara James scored 27 points, Imani Dhahabu added 18 and Yalonda McCormick
had 13 for the Hurricanes (12-12, 4-7).
Langhorne's layup with 1:16 left gave Maryland a seemingly safe lead at
67-59, but Miami's James scored six straight points, pulling the Hurricanes
within two points with 46 seconds left.
A missed free throw and a turnover by the Terrapins gave Miami the ball, but
McCormick missed a jumper that would have tied the game. Dhahabu grabbed the
rebound and was fouled, but missed both free-throw attempts with nine seconds
left.
Kalika France grabbed the rebound and shot 3-for-4 from the line to seal the
win.
