COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Maryland women's swimming and diving head coach Jim Wenhold was named ACC Coach of the Year. This is the first time Wenhold has received such honors.
Wenhold guided the Terps to a perfect 11-0 season, including a 7-0 conference mark and Maryland's first-ever ACC Championship title. Under his leadership, senior Chrissy Miller was named Most Valuable Swimmer at the championship meet, and a number of Terps won individual conference crowns, including all five relays.
Wenhold also lead the Terrapins to a 22nd-place finish at the NCAA Championships, the highest finish of any ACC team. Under his guidance, senior Elizabeth Lavell earned All-American honors, and six Terps achieved honorable mention All-America status.
The Coach of the Year award is determined by a vote of the ACC's head coaches.
