WALLACE, N.C. - Kelly Calkin fired a second-round 73 to tie for 10th individually and lift the University of Maryland women's golf team to second place in the team standings Monday at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational.

As a team, the Terrapins had a two-round total of 603, trailing team-leader Western Carolina by three strokes. Maryland was tied for seventh after the opening round, but rallied for a 295 team score in the second round. All five scoring players in the second round shot 75 or better. Western Carolina was tied with the Terps after round one, but posted a 292 to rally for the lead.

Individually, Calkin was tied for 10th at 150, leading four Terps in the top 20. Kelly MacWhinnie was tied for 12th at 151, with Katie Stepanek and Jessica Reno tied for 15th at 152. Katie Trotter was tied for 22nd at 155.

Emily Klein of Birmingham Southern was the individual leader after the opening 36 holes at 145. She led Michelle Jarman of UNC Wilmington and Beth Felts of Kentucky by one stroke heading into Tuesday's final round.
