Former Terps Highlight ESPN2 Coverage of Thursday's Sky-Mystics WNBA Game

July 22, 2009

WASHINGTON - Former University of Maryland stars Crystal Langhorne, Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver will once again share the same floor, this time as WNBA youngsters when the Chicago Sky visits the Washington Mystics for a Thursday evening tilt at Verizon Center. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET.

Thursday's matchup marks the third meeting between the two teams this season, but will be the first time that Coleman has faced off against her classmate Toliver. Coleman, a Mystics' rookie, was out for the first two contests versus Toliver's Sky due to a high ankle sprain.

Thursday's game marks the final time the Sky will visit Washington in the 2009 regular season. In its first game in Washington on June 20, the Mystics pulled out an 81-72 win despite Toliver's 13 points off the bench. Langhorne posted 14 points with six rebounds in her first game versus her former collegiate point guard.

In the rematch in Chicago a week later, the Sky registered a 68-63 win. Toliver played 10 minutes and did not score while Langhorne put up 12 points with eight rebounds.

The former Terps were teammates at Maryland for three seasons from 2005-08 and claimed the 2006 National Championship together.

Langhorne is averaging 11.3 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor. In just eight games played, Coleman has posted 8.1 ppg and 2.6 rpg. Toliver is scoring 7.3 ppg and dishing out 2.5 assists per game. The point guard recently posted a career-high 22 points (6-for-8 3-pt FG) in Chicago's five-point road win at Seattle on July 12.

Both Chicago (8-8) and Washington (7-7) stand 4.5 games behind the Eastern Conference's No. 1 team, Indiana (12-3). The Sky is 2-7 on the road in 2008 while the Mystics are 4-3 at Verizon Center.
