COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland field hockey team (12-1, 4-0 ACC), ranked No. 2 in the latest Kookaburra / NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, will head to No. 19 Old Dominion (7-7, 4-1 CAA) for a 5 p.m. game Friday in Norfolk, Va. The Terps beat the Monarchs 3-1 on Sept. 3 in College Park.

The Terrapins and the Monarchs own a combined 15 NCAA championships - making them two of the most success programs in NCAA field hockey history. Maryland owns the all-time series over Old Dominion 25-22-1 and hasn't lost in the series since 2005.

Old Dominion is the only non-conference opponent the Terrapins play twice this year.

Head coach Missy Meharg recently earned her 400th career win. Her overall winning percentage of .792 is second only to the Monarchs' Beth Anders, who holds a clip of .805.

Earlier this week, senior Katie O'Donnell was named Sportswoman of the Year by the Women's Sports Foundation. Other top finalists for the award included former Terrapin lacrosse standout Caitlyn McFadden, Olympic ice hockey gold medalist Meghan Agosta, U.S. water polo goalkeeper Betsey Armstrong, and U.S. softball pitcher Jennie Finch.

The Terrapins will play host to Delaware Sunday at 1 p.m. in College Park. Both games this weekend will be broadcast live on WMUCSports.com and Gametracker live stats will be available.
