COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Seven University of Maryland wrestlers placed at the National Collegiate Open on Saturday at Clarion University in Clarion, Pa.

An open tournament, the National Collegiate Open allows for any post high school athlete to compete and provides a postseason type event for nonstarters and redshirting collegiate wrestlers.

Lou Ruland and Joey Boone shared the title at 133 pounds; Jimmy Sheptock took third at 165 pounds; Brian Marcoux and Dex Lederer each took fourth place at 133 and 149 pounds, respectively; Christian Boley took fifth and 197 pounds; and Matt Bogusz finished sixth at 141 pounds.
