COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The KICKS Against Breast Cancer event in Germantown, Md., and the annual alumni game highlight the 2010 spring Maryland women's soccer schedule, Maryland women's soccer coach Brian Pensky announced today.

The spring season kicks off on Tuesday, March 30 with a match in College Park, Md., against Villanova. Maryland then has two more home matches, beginning with George Mason on April23 and concluding with Georgetown on April 9.

The following Saturday, April 17, finds Terps at the 14th annual KICKS Against Breast Cancer intercollegiate women's tournament at Germantown, Md. Maryland's opponents have not yet been determined.

Kicks against Breast Cancer (KABC) was established in honor of Claudia Mayer who passed away in 1996 after a two-year battle with breast cancer. Funds raised from the tournament have been used to assist with the operating expenses for Howard County General Hospital's Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource and Image Center in Columbia. Maryland and mammography screenings were offered to more than 30 women who lacked health insurance. We are proud to say that lives have been saved as a result of the screenings. Since the inaugural tournament, many other businesses have joined in establishing additional fundraising events.

Maryland then hits the road for a game at University Park, Pa., on April 23 against Penn State.

The Terps wrap up the spring schedule on April 24 with the annual Terrapin Alumni game.
