The University of Maryland wrestling team will look for its first conference win Saturday at 7 p.m. when the Terrapins (10-4) play host to the North Carolina Tar Heels (6-6-1) in the Comcast Pavilion.

"This match should be pretty good," said head coach Kerry McCoy. "[North Carolina is] a tough team with a lot of good individuals. We have been doing well the last couple of weeks, so it is important to keep the momentum building as we get closer to the postseason."
In their conference-opener on Jan. 23, the Terps mounted a four-match comeback against the No. 23 Virginia Tech Hokies only to lose the lead and the dual victory in the last bout on the day.
Maryland has finished undefeated in the ACC in three of its last four seasons, having compiled a 21-3 record since 2007. The Terrapins have also won two of their last three ACC Championships and finished in second in last year's tournament.
The Terps have four wrestlers ranked in the top-20 by Intermat including No. 3 Josh Asper at 165 pounds. A redshirt sophomore, Asper has 23 wins on the season and is undefeated in dual matches.
The Tar Heels are led by a trio of 20-plus win grapplers, including redshirt senior Thomas Scotton, at 165 pounds, who has lost to five top-15 wrestlers by just 10 total points .At 157 pounds, freshman Corey Mock has a team-high 29 wins on the season.
